#BREXIT WINS IT 2-1
#BREXIT vrs #BREMAINS

The series continues with the penultimate club and player towards the Quest for Glory.

I- Ibrahimovic (Man Utd)

IBRA is one of those players who publicly declares himself as a player akin to success. Looking at his long journey in football, there’s no doubt about his continuous boasting: from Ajax through Juventus to Inter Milan to Barcelona to AC Milan to PSG before his #BREXIT club Man Utd this season. He was won wherever he goes, hence, he is a born and bred winner by all standards.

Having the chance to reunite with the Special One, Jose Mourinho after their time at Inter Milan, should be a good omen to help restore the bad image of Coach Jose after last season’s debacle at Chelsea.

Despite Ibra’s age, no one can doubt his pedigree, contribution and output. Over the past few years, he has adapted his football to suit his age by playing more smartly. He still makes use of his height, hold-up of play, acrobatic skills and good positioning. Since, the ageing IBRA can’t run, defenders would always have to be smart to mark him with all the experience he has gained as a top striker. Hence, only top and experienced defenders like John Terry have few problems dealing with him.

IBRA would not be the only person Manchester United would need this season, although he is the arrow head of their attack. The likes of young hungry talents like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard would all have a part to play even as they learn from such an experienced front man. Aside that, Man Utd would have to guard against the presence of IBRA dwindling the development of their young attackers.

Aside the young ones, the Red Devils would need the services of their summer purchases of World Record Signing, Paul Pogba & Henrikh Mhykitarian along with the other players in the midfield, Juan Mata, Marouane Fellani, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney to be the solid base on which the front liners thrive on for success.

With a new coach at this great club after below par performances in the last years, Man Utd should be challenging for the EPL Title once again to the delight of all Red Devils.

#BREXIT wins it 2-1

#BREXIT vrs #BREMAINS

The series continues with the last three players to ensure #BREXIT wins the match.

X- aleXis sanchez (Arsenal)

As seen the Chilean proves to be the only player with an X-factor, if not one of the few, in the London club.

Originating from South America, where football is played on the street by young players unlike Europe, he has over time developed the Mental Toughness and Will-to-Win which has propelled him from Chile to play in three of Europe’s best leagues: Udinese in Italy, Barcelona in Spain and now Arsenal in the English Capital.

alexis-sanchez-888

A player who can play in all the four attacking positions (CF, LW, CAM,  RW) with excellence is one every team should have. Arsenal have in him, a man who has not only contributed to his country winning the Copa America 2015  and the Copa America Centenario in 2016, but a player with a fighting spirit, aggression and the ability to run the whole 90 minutes without relenting.

With the Arsenal current setup having played together for more than two years now, and having faced disappointment after disappointment, the Gunners should be looking forward to make it right this time round in the EPL with their manager ready to take good risks as he keeps to his never-changing strategies.

Arsenal are good team who can win the title with just a little push but have never gathered enough effort for the PUSH so have become satisfied with their perennial 4th place finish. But as in football, you never say NEVER.

We can’t tell whether this is going to be the year the lads of Mesut Ozïl, Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Peter Cech and co. are finally going to make Mr. Wenger proud.

#BREXIT WINS 2-1 to the Surprise of Many

2040882_w2

After Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City and Roberto Firmino of Liverpool ensured that their teams were in contention to win this all important match against #BREMAINS, the #BREXIT winning team is been applauded.

E- Eriksen (Tottenham)

Christian Eriksen, a fine gentleman by all standards, remains a vital player to Mauricio Pochettino’s side with his set pieces and crucial attacking play of key passes, assists and goals, just that he doesn’t get much plaudits. Pochettino’s squad, which is full of young talents with great potential has been improving over the years of which we saw them challenge last season’s fairytale winners, Leicester City to the Premier League title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s faith in young players has been seen wherever he’s coached at from Espanyol through Southampton to Spurs, where he has unearthed the likes of Harry Kane, Delle Ali, Eric Dier whilst rebirthing other players who might have lost their form. Pochettino’s knack for spotting good players is so timely such that he always gets his players before the eyes of big-spending clubs come around with their loads of cash.

Aside Spurs’ calamitous ending to their challenge last season that saw them finish below city-rivals Arsenal in 3rd place, expect these men to give another fight for the title if not just a fight for the prestigious Champions League football next season. What should be an added advantage in Spur’s challenge this season is that they didn’t face any notable exodus of players in the Summer Transfer Window, hence the setup remains almost the same with more bonding and telepathic play among the players after the capture of the likes of Victor Wayanma and Vincent Jansen to improve their squad’s depth as they attend to additional Champions League football duties this season.

Spurs is a team that thrives on teamwork with no special mention of players most of the time hence their collective effort makes them difficult to beat. This team can also press so high in a game such that their pressing can start from the blast of the whistle to the final whistle at the beckoning of their Argentine coach. I was wondering how possible this was of which the only reason I could find was the YOUTHFUL Nature of the team. Thumbs up to Mr. Pochettino for assembling such a team.

Aside the high pressing attack of this team which no defence in this world would like to be subjected for 90 mins, Tottenham’s success is not only restricted to their varied attack. A solid defence is a high thumbs up for such a team. Spurs’ compact defence is founded on Hugo Lloris as the keeper between the posts with Toby Alderwerield, Jan Vertogen, Danny Rose amongst other reliable men. Their ability to consistently keep clean sheets or concede few goals across a season seems to amaze me.

Whilst Spurs houses England’s prime striker in their team, Harry Kane, winner of last season’s Golden Boot, which assures Spurs of precious goals across the whole season, even when Kane’s goals run out, there isn’t much cause for alarm: any player in their team can score either from open play or set-pieces.

#BREXIT FINALLY WINS!!! 2-1

#BREXIT FINALLY WINS!!! 2-1

After B-Bruyne of Man City led the Premier League Title winning pack, we move to the next player.
R-Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

Jurgen Kopp has definitely proven himself to be the best man to revive a big club that is unwilling to spend huge sums of money on inflated-priced players on the transfer market but still demands a level of success from the team after his exploits at Borussia Dortmund and to a lesser extent, Mainz 04 in Germany.

With Liverpool losing their purchasing power of the hottest talents in the game due to their uncertain yearly appearance in the Champions League, they have had to make do with the averagely good players with the potential to make it. But since all potential players don’t necessarily turn out to be a high-calibre players who consistently win matches for their teams, the Anfield hierarchy were wise to give the job of this great English club to Mr. Klopp.

Now in his second season, better still his first full season after taking over from another youthful-minded coach in the person of Brendan Rodgers halfway into last season, Klopp should be able to chatter a remarkable progress in the journey of the Anfield lads back to the top hierarchy of football’s great clubs. Mr. Klopp aware of the enormity of this task has cautioned all members of the KOP to lower their high expectations but rather should expect a steady upward progress.

Liverpool’s concession of too many goals including an unimaginable 51 goal-tally in their near title miss in the S-S-S season of 2013/14 (Suarez-Sturridge-Sterling attack under the guidance of talismanic captain Stephen Gerrard until that unfortunate slip against Chelsea en route to that unbelievable 3-3 comeback by Crystal Palace to confirm their runners-up spot), has been a bane to the team such that Klopp ‘ first major concern of which admitted to was that any team however strong its attack was (whether led by Barca’s MSN or Real Madrid’s BBC) would definitely be weakened psychologically by such a leaking defence. Hence, he began his Anfield career by tackling this problem first which resulted in low-scoring 1-0, 1-1 & 0-0 games in his first few matches.

With that problem tackled to a certain extent, Klopp was now ready to unleash his men upfront for which they ended being one of the only two teams to beat last season’s fairytale Champions, the Foxes of Leicester City thanks to his highly committed and industrious men.

Now led by a CMF attack (Coutinho-Mane-Firmino) expect these lads to wear down any defence in the Premier League once they click. ROBERTO FIRMINO, who emerged as the Red’s best player last season with 10 goals and 7 assists with his fellow Brazilian, Philippe Coutinho spending a sizeable amount of time on the treatment table, should still be crucial in that CMF attack of the Kop Family.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

With the current players at Liverpool now played together for quite some time now, expect a natural blend of the team to be their strongest strength as understanding of each other’s play comes without thought as they also begin to fully give in to the high pressing demands of the coach noted for dethroning Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga for two seasons before an appearance in the Champions League final at the Wembley Stadium in 2013. Talk of 2013 just reminds many of the year Klopp-led Dortmund eliminated Jose Mourinho’s Galatico Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate in the semis after that impressive 4-1first-leg win at the Signal Iduna en route to Wembley.

With Klopp even in his first season making it to the final of the Capital One Cup before the penalty kicks loss to winners, Manchester City, this should be his time to challenge greatly for the Premier League Title with the added advantage of lack of European football this season as they continue their journey back to football’s flagship club competition of which they have 5 Champions League crowns.

#BREXIT FINALLY WINS!!! 2-1

#BREXIT scores at the last minute to win the match 2-1 against #BREMAINS. After the #BREXIT Progress Team scored first only for parity to be restored by the #BREMAINS Relegation-fighting Team, the #BREXIT Winning Team has finally won it to make sure Britain goes the #BREXIT way.
B-Bruyne ( Manchester City)

The £51 million Belgian attacking midfielder is so crucial to any team he plays such that his personal form as a player has a huge bearing on the team he plays in. In the two months De Bruyne was injured last season, Man City suffered the most combination of losses and draws in that period compared to any other similar period in the season.

And he returned with a mark which saw him play a crucial role in the triumph over PSG in the Champions League quarters tagged the UCL El-Cashito (Match of Arab Rich Owners). His consistent supply of goals and assists were still seen in that timely return from injury before last summer’s EUROS.

I first saw the lethal works of Kevin De Bruyne at hand when his Wolfsburg side crushed his current coach, Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich 4-1 on 30th January, 2015. (You can check the highlights of that match on YouTube). You should see how deadly he was in tearing apart the Bavarians on the counter whilst distributing the passes to teammates as he emerged as the chief orchestrator of the Wolfsburg side that won the DFB Pokal Cup and runned-up to Bayern in the Bundesliga. Sadly, Wolfsburg missed him during their exploits in the Champions League the next season.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Now under the watchful eye of meticulous planner and philosopher Pep Guardiola, De Bryune would be key to the unleashing of Pep’s philosophy as he attempts to conquer England at his first attempt to silence his perennial doubting Thomases.

De Bruyne is one of the few players in the City setup who can easily adapt to the Philosopher’s possession-passing style as well as the pacy demands of the EPL. He has a perfect dual-blend of these qualities that can cause him to spark a change in style of football on the field anytime at the beckoning of the coach to activate the likes of Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and co. to get their guns blazing.

Pep Guardiola has a lethal set of arsenals in his artillery ready to unleash on the Premier League such that if teams pay attention to only KdB, they might be April Fooled come April 2017.

A typical example is the variation of set-piece takers of which most defenders might pay attention to De Bruyne forgetting about Aleksandr Kolarov, David Silva, out-of-favour Yaya Toure and even Sergio Aguero if the Argentine starts dreaming of taking freekicks. With corners and freekicks being vital in the English game, don’t be surprised even if Guardiola introduces a new philosophy of set-piece taking to ensure his takers cause more havoc to defences.

#BREXIT 1-1 #BREMAINS

After #BREXIT scored the first goal ⚽ for Progress to the Next Stage, #BREMAINS has leveled the score in their fight against Relegation. These teams would have to battle against the inevitable drop as this season progresses.

B-BENTEKE (Crystal Palace)

Big Ben as he is usually called is surely used to the relegation battle after his exploits with Aston Villa including the remarkable escape in season 2014/15 before their inevitable drop the next season.

Now at Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace, expect Benteke to bang in the goals ⚽ after that difficult spell at Liverpool. With Palace toying with relegation last season, expect Mr. Pardew to motivate his boys to score the goals that would ensure safety come May 2017. On a lighter note, another B is gone in the person of Bolasie.

#BREXIT 1-1 #BREMAINS

The fight against Relegation continues with the teams whose primary aim is to avoid the expensive drop down 👇 to the Championship.

*A-Andy Gray (Burnley)*

Burnley’s reliable striker who powered them from the Championship last season to the Premier League would definitely be called upon severally times to see if he can repeat his Top Scorer’s exploits up here in the Premiership. For Burnley they would Andy Gray and his attackers to score at least 20+ goals which carry a lot of points across the whole season while their back is kept solid otherwise they might experience what happened to QPR in season 14/15 despite Charlie Austin score those many goals in the season.

*I-Ibe Jordan (Bournemouth)*

In a team of mostly unknown but youthful players, expect Bournemouth to always play promising football ⚽ but still lack the pedigree to gather the points when it is necessary. After a season up in the Premier League, Bournemouth might have to start taking the bull by the horn in an attempt to amass the needed 40+ points if they don’t want to see Championship Football again. With promising Jordan Ibe from Liverpool now at the club, a few stories of the great things in a big club like Liverpool would ginger the boys both on and off the pitch to lift Eddie Howe’s men out of relegation come Week 38.

*N-Negredo (Middlesbrough)*

Alvaro Negredo! Alvaro Negredo!! Alvaro Negredo!!! 🙌
I just love this calm striker who has a niche for scoring goals consistently whenever he is called upon. Manchester City, however, allowed this Spanish striker to leave back to his homeland but is now back to the land of exciting football ⚽, England. A team promoted to the Premier League like Aitor Karanka’s Boro would need such an experienced striker to score the goals that would keep his team up after their promotion while his team remains solid at the back.

*S-Sigurdsson (Swansea)*

You maybe wondering WHY Swansea would be in the Relegation Battle List. When a team that is solid all throughout their time in the EPL starts playing with Relegation all of a sudden, it might just be the beginning of worse things to come. But truth is after Gary Monk’s team started playing abysmally according to their own standards, the whole country of Wales was beginning to wonder whether Premier League football ⚽ would be missing next season. So solid as the team is, they were able to shake off those fears quite early enough in the second half of the season.

Icelandic captain, Gylfi Sigurdsson would definitely be needed by Pepe Mel to score those goals ⚽ and provide those assists that would lift the whole team, I mean whole nation high high enough to avoid the drop 👇.

*R-Rondon (West Brom)*

Saido Berahino was supposed to have made it big in England by now but the striker’s strange relationship with the club over the past season and a half has stalled his progress and that of the club as well.

This has paved way for other attackers like the Venezuelan striker, Rondon to make their mark at the club. His goals would be vital as Tony Pulis’ team which are noted to be solid at back would still need goals in their Relegation Battle.

*E-Elden Jakupovic (Hull City)*

Though attackers are most essential in the fight against Relegation, a solid goalkeeper between the sticks is much more needed in my own opinion. Costa Rican Keylor Navas was so instrumental in Levante’s fight against relegation in the season leading to the 2014 World Cup 🏆 which later earned him a move to Galatico Real Madrid after his heroics in Brazil. A few fans who have watched Jakupovic of Hull City can really attest the gentleman is good. So amidst the attackers Abel Hernandez and co. scoring the goals ⚽ upfront, Jakupovic would surely be the go-to-man for the Tigers.

*M-Mannone (Sunderland)*

With Big Sam finally out of the Black Cats camp to the Camp of the whole nation, Sunderland are surely destined for another Relegation battle most people can’t foresee whether they would win or lose.

Whilst Jermain Defoe and those upfront would be scoring the goals to gain the points, Black Cats keeper Mannone would still be needed by his team to prevent an avalanche of goals from passing through his net across the whole season since by Matchday 38, number of goals conceded could just be the only saviour for Relegation Strugglers now coached by David Moyes.

#BREXIT SCORES ⚽ FIRST 1-0 (Sequel)

GOOOOOOOOAALLL!!! ⚽⚽⚽

#BREXIT 1-0 #BREMAINS

#BREXIT Scores First (Sequel)

Following up on Part 1,

X-XHERDAN Shaqiri (Stoke City)

The defensive minded, hard playing Stoke City has definitely been transformed under the guidance of manager Mark Hughes into a team that plays beautiful football ⚽ in the few years under him.
The Potters coach brought in a few skillful players like Borjan Krkic and Xherdan Shaqiri to help accomplish that task.

With Marko Arnautovic being the star man of last season with all the supporting cast coming to the party to ensure a 10th place Premier League finish, don’t expect Stoke City for a relegation battle.

Rather expect a natural progression, growth or stabilisation from Mark Hughes men as former Bayern Munich player, Xherdan Shaqiri would to up 👆 his game after his glimpses of a great player shown once again at the EUROS in France. He is able to carry his Swiss Team around his shoulders anytime his nation plays at International Tournaments, not forgetting his good time in Brazil two years ago.

I still don’t get how such a muscular robust built player like Shaqiri is so skillful with his feet alongside the generic powerful shooting characteristic of such calibre of players despite his added advantage of good shooting accuracy.

Expect Mark Hughes men who have now played together for a while would be difficult to beat even against the Premier League heavyweights.

I-IGHALO (Watford)

The Hornets, last season took many teams and pundits by surprise when they started ascending the EPL table so quickly after their promotion from the Championship with precious wins and draws against traditional Premier League teams.

This was attributed to the formidable partnership between Nigerian, Jude Odion Ighalo and energetic captain, Troy Deeney. These front duo supplied the fans with so much goals and excitement such that by Christmas 🎄, the fans of Watford were assured of another Christmas 🎅 in the EPL come next year.

But when the goals of this duo started to dry up, doubts were being raised whether Watford could avoid the drop back to the Championship.

But the truth is the work had already been done earlier on by their impressive tally of points in the first half of the season which ensured they avoided the drop.

With that experience of last season as a good lesson to the team, expect a better place finish from Watford this season and not another Relegation battle.

*T-TADIC Dusan (Southampton)*

The Saints have proven to be the most effective training ground of Premier League’s next big players with the likes of Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin all passing through the team. Apart from being an effective training ground, it is a very profitable venture I would advise any football ⚽ minded businessman 💰 to invest in with hindsight of their price of their players when finally sold.

With the departure of Dutchman Ronald Koeman to Everton, just a season after replacing Maurechio Pochettino, fans might be disturbed. But as the Saints have proven, the solid foundation has already been laid at the club. All that is left is the little tweaking by the coach to produce the particular kind of results he desires.

With no major exodus of players this summer, expect the reliable Serbian provider, Dusan Tadic to be at the helm of affairs directing the midfield along with the other cast as they supply the forwards with numerous clear-cut chances that the likes of Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez should find easy to bury as Saints fans are kept smiling always.

Dusan Tadic, mostly not talked about in the Press, is the 3rd in the EPL assist table in the past two seasons only surpassed by well known assist suppliers, Mesut Ozïl and Cesc Fabregas.
